Home Project Estimates is designed to work without required accounts, quote forms, ads, or a quote/account database.

No account required

You can use the calculators without creating an account or submitting personal information.

Saved estimates

Unit preference, approximate regional settings, and saved estimate history are stored locally in your browser by default. Regional settings use your browser time zone to infer approximate region and currency, and your browser language/locale to infer language. They do not include exact location. If you enable Google Drive sync, saved estimate history and regional settings are also stored in your own Google Drive app data folder so they can sync across your signed-in browsers.

Google user data and OAuth scopes

Google Drive sync is optional. If you choose to connect it, Home Project Estimates requests the OAuth scopes openid, email, profile, and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata.

The Google user data collected through those scopes is your Google Account email address, display name, profile picture URL, and access to the app data folder in your Google Drive. Home Project Estimates uses the profile information only to show which Google account is connected. It uses Drive app data access only to find, create, read, update, and sync one JSON file named home-project-estimates-history.v1.json in the Google Drive app data folder owned by your Google account.

The synced file may contain saved calculator estimate history, deleted-entry markers, approximate regional settings, an update timestamp, and the connected account email. Saved estimates can include the calculator type, measurements or options you entered, calculated quantities, cost ranges, shopping-list details, and the time the estimate was saved. Home Project Estimates does not request access to your general Google Drive files, does not scan your Drive, and does not access Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Photos, or any other Google product data.

How Google user data is used

Home Project Estimates uses Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing Google Drive sync feature. Specifically, the app uses Google account profile data to label the connected account, uses the access token in your browser to call Google APIs, and uses Drive app data access to merge saved estimates, deleted-entry markers, and regional settings between your browser and your Google Drive app data folder.

Home Project Estimates does not use Google user data for advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, lead generation, credit-worthiness decisions, lending, data brokerage, information resale, or creating, training, or improving generalized AI or machine learning models.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics in production to understand aggregate page views, calculator usage, device/browser basics, and site performance. Google Analytics may set or read cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. The analytics data is used to improve the calculators and pages; this app does not create a quote database or account database from your visits.

Google Drive sync

Google Drive sync is optional and uses Google sign-in in your browser. To avoid asking you to sign in before every save, the browser keeps a short-lived Google access token in session storage until it expires or the tab is closed. This site does not keep a server-side account record and does not ask for broad Drive access.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Saved estimates and regional settings remain in your browser until you delete them in the app, clear browser storage, or use browser/device controls to remove site data. If Google Drive sync is enabled, the sync file remains in your Google Drive app data folder until the saved data is deleted through the app and synced, or until you remove it through Google account or Drive app-data controls. Disconnecting Google Drive sync clears the active access token and connected-account metadata from this browser, but it does not by itself delete saved estimates already stored in your browser or Google Drive app data folder.

You can revoke Home Project Estimates access from your Google Account permissions. You can also use the contact form to ask privacy questions or request help deleting Google Drive sync data.

Security and data protection

Home Project Estimates uses HTTPS, Google OAuth, short-lived Google access tokens, and the narrow Drive app data scope to reduce access to Google user data. The active Google access token is kept in browser session storage until it expires, the tab is closed, or you disconnect sync. Connected-account metadata and sync file details are kept in browser local storage so the app can show sync status. Home Project Estimates does not keep Google Drive sync data in a server-side account database.

Limited use

The use of raw or derived user data received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Home Project Estimates does not sell Google user data, transfer it except as necessary to provide the user-facing sync feature, or use it to create, train, or improve generalized AI or machine learning models.

Data sharing

Home Project Estimates does not sell, rent, or disclose Google user data to third parties for purposes unrelated to providing or improving the app. Google Drive sync data is exchanged directly between your browser and Google APIs for the optional sync feature. Google Analytics and Google Forms data are handled by Google services as described in Google's privacy terms.

Feedback forms

Contact and calculator feedback links open a Google Form. Calculator feedback links include the calculator name and page URL. If the URL includes calculator inputs, those URL parameters may be included so the issue is easier to reproduce. Any message or optional email you submit is stored in Google Forms and, if enabled, the linked Google Sheet.

Contact

For privacy questions, use the contact form. The form is the official contact channel for Home Project Estimates.

Future changes

If ads, email tools, server-side saved projects, lead forms, or other data-collecting features are added later, this page should be updated before those tools go live.
